Door opening

Most doors open without destroying the lock. The work is done with non-destructive techniques that act on the mechanism without damaging it, and the lock is only replaced when there is genuinely no alternative. Before anything is touched you are told what will be done and what it will cost.

What is included

How it works

  1. 1

You call and describe the door

Type of door, whether the key is in the other side, whether it is deadlocked. That is enough to know whether this is a motorbike or a van job.

  2. 2

    Price before I set off

You are told the cost before I leave. If the situation on arrival is different, you are told before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Opening

Always non-destructive first. The lock is only destroyed if there is no other option, and after telling you.

  4. 4

Checked, and you pay what was agreed

The door is left working. If something had to be replaced, you keep the old part.

What can change the price

The price above is what gets charged. These are the only reasons it could change, and you are always told before anything starts:

Frequently asked questions

Can it be opened without breaking anything?

On most doors, yes. When the lock has been forced, has seized, or is high-security and deadlocked, it sometimes has to be destroyed. You are told before, never after.

What do I need to show you?

Something that connects you to the address. If you live there: ID with that address, a tenancy agreement, a bill in your name or your padrón certificate. If you are staying in a holiday flat: the booking confirmation showing that address, plus your passport. Without something, the door does not get opened — it is a legal requirement, not a preference.

What if the key is in the other side?

It can still be opened, but it takes longer and in some cases the cylinder has to be replaced. Mention it when you call so the price you get is realistic.

Before you call

Sometimes it sorts itself out, or at least you know what to expect.
