Frequently asked questions
How long will you take to arrive?
It depends on the town. Each area page shows the real arrival time, not a generic promise. For emergencies I come by motorbike, which in summer and in old town centres is considerably quicker than a van.
Do I pay the call-out even if the door does not open?
You are told on the phone what it will cost before I set off. If the situation on arrival is not what was described, you are told before anything is touched and you decide.
Can a door be opened without breaking the lock?
In most cases yes, with non-destructive opening. If the lock has been forced, has seized or is high-security, it sometimes has to be replaced. You are told beforehand, not after.
Do you work for apartment blocks and businesses?
Yes: entrance doors, storage rooms, garages, commercial units and roller shutters. Installations and scheduled maintenance are done by appointment, with the van.
I am staying in a holiday flat and I am locked out. Can you help?
Yes, and it happens often along this coast. Bring up the booking confirmation on your phone — the one showing that address and your name — and have your passport or ID with you. That is enough. Being a guest rather than the owner is not a problem; not being able to show any connection to the address is.
