High-security locks
A high-security lock anchors the door to the frame at several points at once, not just at the bolt. That is what makes it resist levering, which is how most doors get forced. But it needs a frame that will hold: fitting one into a loose frame is spending money on a lock that will take the whole frame with it.

What can change the price
The price above is what gets charged. These are the only reasons it could change, and you are always told before anything starts:
- Number of anchor points
- Type of door and state of the frame
- Whether the frame has to be machined or reinforced
- The grade of the cylinder that goes with it

Frequently asked questions
How many anchor points do I need?
It depends on the door and where it is vulnerable. Three is usually enough on a home; more points on tall or very exposed doors. It is not «the more the better» at any price.
Does it work on a timber door?
Sometimes yes, but it depends on whether the leaf will take the machining. If the door is thin, reinforcing the door works out better than fitting a lock that splits it.
Will it reduce my insurance premium?
Some companies allow for it. Ask yours, and I will give you in writing what has been fitted.
